A longtime resident of Greenwich Village in NYC, Gordon Gilbert writes and performs poetry, songs and monologues at spoken word events in the metropolitan area.
He has also authored several short stories and a play, Monologues from the Old Folks Home, produced 8 times at various Manhattan venues. Gordon has hosted many readings celebrating famous poets and writers (especially the beat generation), and for several years has held a “Remembrances of 9/11” reading in September.
He does English translations and subtitles for Peruvian photographer/filmmaker, Luis Salcedo and collaborated with him on a trilingual book for young adults.
Gordon is currently a member of the Radical Poets Collective, and was a member earlier of its previous incarnation as the Activists Roundtable.
