Barbara came to the U.S. from England in 1969, became a nanny, and then went to Fordham University to study art education and Pratt Institute for an MFA in painting. Her painting has been shown in the U.S. and U.K. in galleries. She worked for 20 years as a project manager in technology on Wall Street and later was ordained as an Interfaith Minister and worked in hospice pastoral care for 14 years. She received her doctorate in pastoral counseling. She is also a massage therapist, a Reiki master, and a flower essence practitioner. She also worked for Mercy College as a professor in the New York State prison system. Throughout her adult life, Barbara worked with both young children and college students.
